Your first visit to Capitol Square Dental establishes a vital foundation for our relationship with you. During the first visit, we make sure to obtain important background information, like your dental and medical history, and give you time to get to know your doctor. We are a small family owned dental practice in the heart on Madison. Because of this, we are less rigid than other clinics you've been to. We try to be more approachable too! You'll get more than a few minutes of the Doctor's time here. There's a reason we've built a successful practice off personal referrals instead of flashy marketing campaigns.
Being well-prepared for your appointment will ensure that the doctor has all of the needed information to provide the best possible care for you. It also will help relieve any unnecessary anxiety you may be feeling.
When scheduling your appointment, it will be helpful to know your previous dentist's name (or clinic) and phone number so we can transfer your x-rays. Also, have your dental insurance card(s) handy. If you are not the insurance policy holder, we will need their full name, birth date and address. Social security numbers may be required if your insurance carrier uses that as your ID number.
Bring a list of current medications and your insurance card along to your first appointment.
To provide the best care possible, we are not members of any insurance HMO's or PPO's. We can file with all insurance companies if your policy allows out-of-network coverage. If you're not sure, our receptionist will be happy to check with your insurance for you!
Why are we not dental insurance network providers? They would require us to discount our services by as much as 40%, which would mean we'd have to make up that difference by lowering our standards for equipment and materials, limiting chair time to increase appointments and try to upsell services. We do not want to compromise in any way on the care we give to our patients and we absolutely don't want to become salespeople who unethically push products and services that may not be in your best interest. We have the highest standards for sanitation, products and materials; and while we may excitedly share what new products and technology are available, we will not try to sell you on anything that you don't need or want to do.
